DAY 1

Welcome to the city of Vienna! Enjoy a panoramic tour of the city as you circle around the Ringstrasse, passing by some of the most significant sights such as the City Hall (Rathaus), the Parliament Building, the State Opera House and the famous Hofburg Palace. Check-in at your hotel and enjoy some free time this evening.  Overnight Vienna.

DAY 2

Start your morning with a visit to the Naschmarket which has been around since the Middle Ages. Enjoy  strolling through the open air market bursting with the colours of fruits, vegetables, delicacies and local finds. Then explore the city’s imperial past as you  tread in Sisi’s footsteps at magnificent Schönbrunn Palace which used to be her summer residence. Take a timeless wander around the palace’s Baroque gardens and get lost in the 17th century maze. Afterwards, spend a little time appreciating some magnificent  Viennese works of art as you visit either the Kunsthistorische Museum or the Leopold Museum before capping the day off at Cafe Central, a popular meeting point for the likes of Sigmund Freud, Arthur Schnitzler and Leo Trotzki.  A visit to one or more of the many mosques in the city can be incorporated in your itinerary.  Overnight Vienna.

DAY 3

Today you will visit some of Vienna’s most iconic architectural treasures including the stunning  12th century Gothic St. Stephen’s Cathedral where you can also explore the catacombs and – if you’re up for a little exercise – climb the 343 steps to the top of the bell tower for a lovely view of the city. Stroll down Karntnerstrasse as you walk your way to the famous Hofburg Palace, the very center of the Habsburg empire, where you can visit three museums: The Imperial Apartments with their original furnishings and decorations, the Sisi Museum where you can learn about the empress’ life and the Imperial Silver Collection. In the evening, catch a concert in St. Anna’s Church or St. Charles’ Church and be delighted by an ensemble playing famous works by Mozart, Bach, Haydn and Beethoven.  Overnight Vienna.

DAY 4

Enjoy some time to explore more of Vienna just as you please before commencing your homeward journey.

You may wish to maximise your stay in Vienna with a day trip to any of the following:

  • Discover the very scenic Wachau Valley as you take a delightful boat ride along the Danube and visit the magnificent Melk Abbey and the historic town of Krems.
  • If you’re up for the long drive, you can enjoy a day trip to Salzburg and perhaps take the fascinating “Sound of Music” tour
  • See the Roman city of Baden, visit a Mayerling hunting lodge and take a boat ride at the Seegrotte on a half day trip to Vienna Woods and Mayerling

There’s so much more you can do in the city and the following are just some of the many activities which we can arrange for you:
