Itinerary


DAY 1

Arrive in Edinburgh. Transfer to hotel whilst viewing Edinburgh’s famous sights on a half day panoramic city tour. The city of Edinburgh offers the great architecture of Prince’s Street, the ceremonial regal grandeur of Holyroodhouse Palace and the modernity of the Scottish Parliament building  capped by the amazing views of Edinburgh Castle in its imposing position overlooking the city.  Overnight Edinburgh.

DAY 2

Morning guided sightseeing tour of Edinburgh including a visit to the Castle and walk along the medieval Royal Mile. In the afternoon head along a beautifully scenic route north towards Stirling, with a chance to visit impressive Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument to the real life “Braveheart”.  Overnight Stirling/Perth area. 

DAY 3

This morning we travel towards the Highlands of Scotland with the chance to visit Blair Castle and the whisky distillery at Blair Atholl. Continue north, through glorious  Speyside on the Whisky Trail and on to the famous Loch Ness where you can try your best to spot the loch’s legendary monster ‘Nessie’. Overnight Inverness area.

DAY 4

Travel along the banks of Loch Ness, option to visit the official Loch Ness visitor centre or Urqhuart Castle on the western banks of the Loch. Continue on to Oban.   Alternatively cross the bridge to the Isle of  Skye and enjoy this unique mountainous island. En-route is Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most photographed castles in the world and a truly wonderful sight.  Overnight Oban/Fort William area.

DAY 5

As we travel through the stunning scenery of Glencoe and the Nevis mountain range, home to the UK’s highest mountain Ben Nevis, you will see the rugged, wild beauty of western Scotland at its best. Then it’s on to Loch Lomond for a relaxing stop off with a chance for a short cruise on the loch. Overnight Glasgow area.

DAY 6

This morning enjoy a short sightseeing tour of the city of Glasgow taking in all the highlights including George Square and the Cathedral. Glasgow has preserved much of its Victorian architecture and is home to over 20 museums and art galleries. Departure home.
