Itinerary
There can be no better way to arrive at your hotel in Venice than aboard a private water taxi as you skim across the famous lagoon, relaxing in its resplendent plush leather and polished wood interior. On arrival at the airport your luggage will be transferred directly to your hotel room so you can enjoy the ride unencumbered. Check-in at your hotel and enjoy a welcome drink of Venetian cocktails. After breakfast join your expert local guide for a walking tour through the alleys and walkways of this glorious city. Venice seems to float in its lagoon of water – it is in fact made up of a group of 117 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by over 400 bridges, the most famous of which is the Rialto Bridge spanning the Grand Canal –busy with boats and gondolas. You’ll also see St Mark’s Square, with its iconic sights including St Marks Basilica and Bell Tower, the Doge’s Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs, as well as many fine palazzos and fascinating hidden corners. After time for lunch in one of the many delightful trattorias, board a private boat for the short cruise to Murano Island, famous across the world for its tradition in high quality glass production. You’ll see the locals at work in a private demonstration of the ancient art of glass blowing. Continue to Burano Island famous for its brightly painted fishermen’s houses and handmade lace where you can browse in the small shops and walk through the narrow alleyways to discover magical hidden corners. Rejoin your private boat for the return cruise to your hotel to freshen up before dining this evening. Overnight Venice.
