Oyster Farming In Ireland

Meet our Oyster Farmer – Patrice. Patrice will pick you up at the harbour and you will travel in rural style on his tractor and trailer to his oyster and mussel beds at an idyllic location on the beautiful Irish coastline, Coney Island of Van Morrison song fame.  You will learn all about how Patrice cultivates and harvests his oysters then have a go yourself and harvest your very own oysters!

Afterwards you take the 5 minute trip to Patrice’s Shac which is built into the cliff face in a stunning bay where on a clear day you can see the Isle of Man. Sit down to a wonderful al fresco buffet of your own fresh oysters and mussels. This is a perfect pre-dinner experience.  Learn how to shuck your oysters an then wash the fresh Shellfish down with a glass of bubbly or the traditional Irish way with a Guinnesss or local Porter beer.

Patrice supplies Michelin starred restaurants in Belfast with his highly sought after oysters and mussels, but out on the coast is where to enjoy them at their very freshest and best.
