The Abbey has been the site of royal coronations since 1066 and is the final resting place of seventeen monarchs. Continue to Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square with Nelson’s column, then Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square in Soho, the renowned district of theatres, cinemas, pubs, clubs and restaurants. Free time for shopping.
Half day London sightseeing including the Tower of London, the medieval castle which has served as a fortress, a royal palace, a prison, a place of execution and torture, an armoury, a treasury and, since 1303, the home of the Crown Jewels. Next, enjoy a short walk across Tower Bridge, an iconic symbol of London completed in 1894. In the afternoon there’s free time to explore with an option to visit St Paul’s Cathedral, the British Museum or Madame Tussaud’s.
