Visit the BMW factory in Munich, the historic home of BMW cars. Experience the amazing almost clinical environment in which some of the world’s finest vehicles are manufactured. Venture behind the scenes in the parent factory of the BMW group where 7000 employees from over 50 nations produce 900 cars and up to 1400 engines per day!
Your fascinating 2.5 hour tour starts in the pressing shop where the components that make up BMW cars are pressed in to shape. From there you will journey through all twelve halls of the plant watching the various construction processes in action. Accompanied by an expert from the company you can ask questions about each process as you move through the plant and see the amazingly complex procedures at work as the car gradually takes shape. Marvel at how many tons of steel are turned into parts, joined together and the body married to the drive train to make up the vehicle. Your tour ends in the Assembly Hall where the shiny new cars are completed and prepared for despatch around the world. Subject to confirmation from BMW, on request, tours can be tailored to suit particular interests if desired.
OPTIONAL EXTENSION – BMW WELT & THE BMW MUSEUM
Continue straight to the adjacent BMW Welt (BMW World), an exhibition featuring the vast range of cars produced by BMW and showcasing the wider brand in all its glory. You can also incorporate a visit to the BMW Museum to learn about the history of this remarkable automotive phenomenon. Souvenirs can be purchased at the Welt and Museum shop and refreshment options are available during the visit.
