Day 1:

On arrival at the airport you will be met by your driver guide who will take you to your hotel. If your arrival time permits you will then enjoy a short orientation sightseeing tour with your driver guide, taking in such famous sights as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square and St Paul's Cathedral.
Overnight in central London.

Day 2:

Kings Cross Platform 9 3/4 imageDepart on a half day sightseeing tour of London visiting some of the famous Harry Potter locations, starting with Kings Cross Station and platform 9 and 3/4 where the famous Hogwarts Express departs for Hogwarts Academy. Continue to London Zoo  reptile house where in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' Harry encounters the famous snake, and on to Australia House, which is where the Gringotts Wizarding Bank was filmed and Charing Cross Road that was used as Diagon Alley. After lunch travel to Oxford where you will visit Christchurch College. The Great Hall was used as Hogwarts’ dining room and the Bodleian Library was Hogwarts’ famous library in the films. Many scenes were filmed in Oxford including the staircase scene and the hospital wing.

Day 3:

After visiting Warwick this morning and Britain's greatest medieval experience, Warwick Castle, journey on to York. See the city’s historic walls, York Minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre. Then continue north to the beautiful North York Moors. Goathland Station on the North York Moors Railway was used as a location in ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone’ .   Overnight in the North Yorkshire area.

Day 4:

After breakfast depart for Northumberland to visit Alnwick Castle and the gardens  where Harry’s first flying lesson was filmed. You will recognize many more scenes whilst exploring Alnwick Castle, including the location of the Quidditch game. From Alnwick travel north to Bamburgh Castle the location of many scenes in  ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’.

Day 5:

Time off from Harry today and a half day’s sightseeing in Edinburgh taking in the Castle, which dominates the city with amazing views in all directions and which is home to the Scottish Crown Jewels and the famous Stone of Destiny , the ancient coronation seat of the Scottish monarchs.  Afterwards enjoy a walk along the medieval Royal Mile to St Giles' Cathedral with its famed crown spire and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where  Mary Queen of Scots lived and which is now the official residence of the Royal Family when in Scotland.   After lunch your journey takes you through the beautiful Scottish Borders and past Hadrian's Wall to the spectacular scenery of the  Lake District.  Overnight in the Lake District area.

Day 6:

Alnwick CastleToday we will drive south to Stratford-upon-Avon, famous for the history of Shakespeare. Explore this historic town with its picturesque shop fronts, Shakespeare's Birthplace and its theatres. After Stratford continue to Gloucester, where the Cathedral was used for many interior scenes in the Harry Potter films. Many of the ghost scenes and moving pictures on the stairs were filmed here, along with the famous scenes in 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' with Moaning Myrtle the ghost. Before leaving Gloucester a visit to the Docks and their historic Victorian buildings is recommended.   Overnight In the Gloucester area.

Day 7:

After breakfast travel back towards London, stopping at the medieval village of Lacock which was the inspiration for Godric's Hollow where Harry lived with his parents.  Lacock Abbey was used for many school scenes, including Professor Snape’s dungeon classroom, the mirror room and various corridor scenes. The Abbey and village have also been used as a setting for many other films.   After lunch  visit Windsor Castle before arriving at your hotel.

Day 8:

At leisure until your transfer to London Heathrow for your flight home
