'Homestays' is the name given to accommodation provided by English-speaking families who open their homes to accept foreign visitors. Each year Go West looks after many (mainly school and youth) groups who choose this type of accommodation as a cheaper alternative to hotel accommodation.

Homestays imageThis gives the guests a chance to see how people in Britain or Ireland live and provides a friendly atmosphere. Although standards can vary between families and guests should not expect hotel facilities and services, the homes provide comfortable, clean accommodation with good food, in safe areas of cities close to transport connections with the centre.
Normally each family will accommodate 2 to 4 guests, which enables the guests to talk to and mix with their hosts.  Guests can eat all meals with the host family, depending on the wishes of the group and the itinerary. Lunch is normally packed as the group is generally on an excursion during the day.

A Local Organiser is always available to take care of the guests in the Homestay community throughout their stay. On arrival the group is met at a central meeting point by the families, who take the guests to their homes, and this same meeting point is used on subsequent days.

Homestays can be arranged in: Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, Gloucester, London, Liverpool, Perth, Stirling, York, as well as other locations throughout the UK and Ireland (eg Dublin and Cork).
Full details of procedures for booking Homestays with us will be sent when we receive your enquiry.

Go West also arranges Homestays together with English language courses - contact us for details.
