BARCELONA PRE OR POST CRUISE

Barcelona is an amazing city to experience, and the perfect destination for our cruise clients who have time to enjoy this city either before or after a cruise. Barcelona has a huge number of attractions including a city centre which retains its medieval street plan, with stunning modernist architecture including several buildings by Gaudí - Spain's most famous architect dotted along the city, waiting to be explored at every turn. Barcelona is almost as lively at night as it is during the day and it has a unique, exciting atmosphere, which delivers a truly unforgettable experience.

DAY
1

Upon arrival in Barcelona, meet with your driver and transfer to the city for a half day panoramic sightseeing tour with private guide. First you will be taken to Montjuïc Hill, where Barcelona’s 1992 Olympics took place. Admire the view of the city from Mirador del Alcalde next to Montjuïc Castle, overlooking Plaza de Espana, dominated by the National Palace and Arenas de Barcelona. Enjoy a drive along the Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona’s main boulevard passing by exquisite architectural gems such as Casa Batllo, Casa Amatller and Casa Morera. Savour dinner in a local restaurant before checking in to your hotel and enjoy your first overnight stay in Barcelona.

DAY
2

Meet your driver and guide after breakfast for a full day sightseeing. Begin your day at La Sagrada Familia, one of the most well-known and popular attractions in Spain. Then stop at the Hospital de Sant Pau, one of the greatest symbols of the modernist architecture in Barcelona and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Head to the oldest part of Barcelona, the Gothic Quarter, where you’ll stroll through the narrow streets of medieval Barcelona and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Park Güell, another of Gaudí’s masterpieces. Wander around the parklands to witness the attention-grabbing buildings and mosaic-covered sculptures, including the famous dragon staircase. Return to your hotel late afternoon for a free evening and dinner at leisure.

DAY
3

Your day begins with a visit to Montserrat, a stunning, craggy mountain that towers over the Barcelona area. Visit the mountain’s Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, where the famous 12th-century statue of the Black Virgin is housed. While you're at Montserrat, you’ll have time to visit the fascinating Museum of Montserrat, go for a walk or ride the rack railway or cable car up the mountain. You then head back to Barcelona for an afternoon of shopping in some of the best shopping streets of Europe!
