Arrive in the Finnish capital, Helsinki, renowned for its Nordic efficiency and cleanliness. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight


Morning panoramic city sightseeing tour including the impressive Olympic Stadium, the monument to Sibelius, the fascinating Fish Market, Lutheran Rock Church, the White Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, Houses of Parliament, City Hall and the grandiose Senate Square. There is free time this afternoon to explore at your own pace and maybe do a little shopping in the smart city centre.  Dinner and overnight in Helsinki.


Take a short transfer to join the City Boat crossing to the impressive and imposing World Heritage Suomenlinna Fortress, on its island guarding the entrance to the Gulf Of Finland and Russia beyond. Return to the Finnish mainland for the short drive through delightful countryside to the medieval town of Porvoo. Perhaps enjoy a guided walking tour through the ancient medieval streets and see the famous view from the bridge as well as historic port houses, the Cathedral, Holm House and the Town Hall.  There are also plenty of fascinating craft shops to explore and buy from!  Return to Helsinki in good time for the overnight cruise across the Gulf of Bothnia to Stockholm. Your Cruise Ferry features live entertainment, excellent bars, shops and boutiques, a casino and a wellness centre!  Dinner, breakfast and cabin accommodation on board are included.


Fly Helsinki – Stockholm this afternoon


Wake up in another country this morning!  Enjoy breakfast on board your cruise ship before disembarking for a half day city tour of Stockholm including the “Gamla Stan” Old Town which still reflects the original medieval street layout. See many of the city’s oldest buildings dating back as far as the 13th century Storkyrkan and Riddarholmskyrkan churches, coronation and burial places of Swedish monarchs. Nearby is the imposing exterior of the Baroque Royal Palace which houses the Swedish crown jewels and is laid out like a Roman Emperor’s palace with over 600 rooms on seven floors.  There’s also the delightful architecture of Stortorget, the oldest square in the city, the more recent Nobel Museum which celebrates the illustrious prize and the Stadshuset (City Hall) where Nobel Prize winners enjoy their banquet. This afternoon visit King Gustav Adolf’s massive royal warship,  the Vasa which embarrassingly sank when launched in 1628 and was raised from the mud after 333 years.  Dinner and overnight in Stockholm.


There’s plenty of time for shopping in Stockholm’s classy stores and boutiques this morning, or you could visit one of more than a hundred other museums and galleries including the ABBA museum which pays homage to the illustrious four piece pop group.   After lunch transfer to the airport for your short flight to Copenhagen. 


Day 4 afternoon free for shopping. 


Day 5 Travel by coach right across the country to the coastal university city of Malmo and climb over the remarkable Oresund Bridge over the sea reaching a height of over 200 metres before descending to cross the Danish coast en route to Copenhagen for dinner and overnight. 



Today begins with a half day sightseeing tour of Copenhagen, Denmark’s charming capital including the city’s iconic landmarks, the Carlsberg Brewery and the world famous statue of the Little Mermaid, which the Carlsberg family commissioned. Other highlights include the Royal Danish Theatre and the picturesque Nyhavn where Hans Christian Andersen lived and now famed for its colourful houses, the Christiansborg Government Building, the magnificent Amalienborg Palace, winter residence of the Danish Royal Family,  Rosenborg Castle in its splendid grounds, the remarkable Royal Library, the largest in all the Nordic countries,  the world famous Tivoli pleasure gardens and Gefion Fountain, depicting the mythical story of the creation of the island on which Copenhagen is located.

Free time this afternoon to explore the city’s sights at your own pace and take a stroll down  Copenhagen’s main shopping street – the Stroget  - reputed to be the longest pedestrianised thoroughfare in Europe !!


This morning take a short drive by coach north to Frederiksborg Slot near Hillerod. This majestic Renaissance palace, sometimes known as the Nordic Versailles, is surrounded by a stately lake and set in wonderful grounds with glorious gardens in both Baroque and romantic English styles. Since 1878 this has also housed the Danish Museum of National History. Return to Copenhagen via Hamlet’s Castle at Helsingor (Elsinore) to join the overnight Cruise Ferry to Norway. Dinner, breakfast and cabin accommodation on board are included.


Arrive in Oslo, capital of Norway. Morning panoramic city sightseeing. Highlights include the City Hall, Akershus Fortress,  Nobel Peace CentreHolmenkollen Ski Jump, Royal Palace Park, Opera House and Cathedral. This afternoon don’t miss the chance to see Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Museum and real Viking ship and the Kon Tiki Museum including the raft itself, as well as the Ibsen museum and the National Gallery, home of Munch’s Scream.
