Arrive Oslo and transfer to your Hotel. Morning panoramic city sightseeing. Highlights include the City Hall, Akershus Fortress, Nobel Peace Centre, Holmenkollen Ski Jump, Royal Palace Park, Opera House and Cathedral. This afternoon don’t miss the chance to see Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Museum and real Viking ship and the Kon Tiki Museum including the raft itself, as well as the Ibsen museum and the National Gallery, home of Munch’s Scream .

Scenic drive across the high wild plateau of the Hardangervidda, home to Europe’s largest stock of Reindeer. Visit Voringsfoss waterfall, one of the best in a country full of waterfalls, and the stunning Hardanger Fjord, a fine example of the extraordinarily steep sided sea inlets for which Norway is so famous. Overnight in Bergen - a World Heritage Site in its own right - renowned for Bryggen, the historic Fisherman’s Quarter, and Troldhaugen, the former home of composer Edvard Grieg.

Today is your chance to experience the legendary “Norway in a Nutshell” . After a short drive to Voss join the train to the remote station at Myrdal to ride on the spectacularly steep Flam railway for the world famous journey to the fjordside at Flam. Continue by Fjord steamer along the peaceful waters of Aurland Fjord with its impossibly steep sides and narrow waters, rejoining your coach at Gudvangen for the return journey up the spectacular  Stalheim and Vikafjell mountain roads and down the dramatic and scenic descent to SogneFjord, another of Norway’s finest. Overnight in one of the delightful hotels on the shores of the Fjord.

This morning transfer to a Troll Car to visit the stunning Briksdal Glacier – a frozen river of ice that tumbles down the hillside, before reaching the wonderful steep sided  Geiranger Fjord - perhaps the most famous of all Norways fjords with its almost supernatural beauty. Continue  north up the Eagle’s Road for a view of the spectacular Seven Sisters waterfalls and on via the legendary Troll Road down the Trolstigen (Troll Wall),an extraordinary rock face which the road clings to as it descends to Andalsnes and another  fjord! Overnight in this delightful corner of Western Norway.

Today visit historic Trondheim, capital of central Norway, famed for Nidaros Cathedral, the northernmost medieval cathedral in the world where Norway’s patron Saint Olav is buried and Bakklandet, the historic quarter of delightful wooden buildings and chic modern bars and boutiques.  From here, join the famous E6 Road to the Arctic which runs the full length of Norway through ever changing yet always spectacular scenery. Make a stop at Laksfors to view the spectacular waterfalls famed for their leaping salmon en route to an overnight stop in Mosjoen/Mo I Rana.

Beyond Mo I Rana the road crosses the wild Saltfjellet and a momentous yet invisible line at 66.3 degrees north, the Arctic Circle, where you can collect a certificate to mark your transit into the land of the midnight sun!  Once a series of ferries, the E6 now features modern tunnels and soaring bridges across the many sea inlets through this beautiful land en-route to Narvik  and your hotel in the Tromso area.  Depending on the season tonight you may see the Midnight Sun or the Northern Lights!!

Option to add a day  and visit the magnificent Lofoten Islands with their historic fishing communities and stunning mountain scenery right on the edge of Europe, and a perfect place to see the Midnight Sun or the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

This morning visit the fascinating Tromso  Polar Museum  to learn about heroes like the polar bear king Henry  and polar explorer Roald Amundsen before continuing along the E6, skirting the spectacular coastline with wonderful views all the way to Alta, the largest town in Norway’s northernmost province Finnmark, for a visit to the Polar Bear Museum as well as the superb Rock Carvings Museum, dedicated to the prehistoric rock art and artefacts of the ancient cultures that lived here many millennia ago.    Overnight in Honningsvag area.

After breakfast in Honningsvag enjoy the short but momentous drive to  the northernmost tip of Europe, Nordkapp (NorthCape). Collect your certificate and visit the famous Globe monument before returning  south to Alta or Hammerfest for your connecting flight to Oslo and onward to home.
