On arrival at Rome airport you will meet your knowledgable local guide who will take you for an orientation sightseeing tour around the central part of this ancient city. Rome is famous for its piazzas, its open-air markets and fantastic historic sites. Today you also get the chance to visit the world famous St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums. Have some free time in the afternoon when you can perhaps toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain or have a fine Italian cappuccino before shopping. Overnight in Rome.
This morning after breakfast embark on a full day sightseeing including photo stops at the Flavian Ampitheatre – better known as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill - the religious, political and commercial centre of ancient Rome. See the remarkable Pantheon Temple, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Victor Emmanuel Monument, affectionately known as the Wedding Cake! Finally, enjoy free time for glamourous shopping in Via del Corso, Via Veneto and surrounds. Overnight in Rome.
Travel north by coach to Florence, in the beautiful Italian region of Tuscany, known as the centre of medieval European trade and finance and the birthplace of Renaissance. Enjoy a short sightseeing tour in Florence including the city’s most iconic building, the Duomo – Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore - designed at the end of the 13th century and now the symbol of Florence. Continue further north for overnight in Venice Mestre.
Transfer to Venice Island in the morning for a walking tour of this unbelieveable city. People say that Venice has the most artistic masterpieces per square kilometre anywhere in the world – and there certainly is no other city like it! Wander around the canals, watch for gondolas and amazing restaurants, take photos at the Doges Palace and Rialto Bridge and visit Venice’s magnificent St Mark’s Basilica, which blends the architectural styles of East and West. After lunch take a boat to Murano Island, world-renowned for centuries for its blown glass creations, from jewellery to tableware to sculptures. Visit one of the glass factories and enjoy a demonstration of the highly skilled craft of producing the delicate and ornate objects by an experienced glass artist. Depart Venice, overnight in Milan.
This morning we have a short sightseeing tour in one of the world’s fashion capitals, Milan.
