BELVOIR CASTLE

Belvoir Castle is the spectacular ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland whose family have held the land since 1509. The Castle houses one of Europe's finest art collections and every room is steeped in history. There are magnificent displays of military treasures and impressive period art, tapestries, furniture and sculpture in each of the stately rooms. Guests cannot fail to revel in these glorious and majestic surroundings.
TRADITIONAL AFTERNOON TEA
This quintessentially English tradition is credited to Her Grace Anna, 7th Duchess of Bedford, who in 1843 enjoyed staying at Belvoir Castle as a guest of the 5th Duchess of Rutland and was served "a beverage together with minute wafer thin triangular sandwiches and exquisite little fancy cakes". The popularity of this practice blossomed and so the tradition of the English afternoon tea was born. Now you can experience this for yourself!
In the company of Their Graces the Duke and Duchess of Rutland and accompanied by music from the Castle's resident pianist or harpist guests can enjoy a fine selection of teas, traditional sandwiches and pastries in the magnificent Regent's Gallery. As part of this truly memorable day guests are invited on a guided tour of the Castle and gardens.
PRIVATE DINNER AND OVERNIGHT STAY
Enjoy an aperitif in one of the stately rooms before repairing to the majestic State Dining Room for an exquisite 4 course meal accompanied by wine from the Duke's cellar, before retiring to the Library and Billiards Room for postprandial drinks.
The following morning, guests are invited on a guided tour of the Castle and gardens.
